Das vorliegende Buch ist ein Versuch, das aufregendste Phänomen der Pflanze-Pflanze-Interaktion, bekannt als Allelopathie, zu untersuchen. Dieses Buch ermöglicht es seinen Lesern, sich mit den Einzelheiten der allelopathischen Wirkung von Tridex procumbens, einem weit verbreiteten Unkraut, auf die Wachstumsleistung von vier wichtigen Kulturpflanzen (Vigna aconitifolia, Lepidium sativum, Trigonell foenumgraecum und Cicer arietinum) vertraut zu machen. Die Wirkung des Pflanzenextrakts von T. procumbens wurde sowohl auf In-vitro- als auch auf In-vivo-Ebene untersucht. Drei verschiedene Konzentrationen des Pflanzenextrakts (1 %, 50 % und 100 %) wurden auf beiden Ebenen in dreifacher Ausführung zusammen mit der Kontrolle verwendet. Nach einer 7-tägigen Inkubation bei Raumtemperatur wurde bei Vigna aconitifolia in einer Konzentration von 100 % eine maximale Verringerung der prozentualen Samenkeimung (30,00 10,00) auf In-vitro-Ebene festgestellt. Maximale Verringerung des Keimungsindexes (21,86 2,54) bei der gleichen Pflanze mit der gleichen Konzentration. Ein ähnlicher Trend (Verringerung von %G=40,00 20,00 und GI=17,3 3,63) wurde auf In-vivo-Ebene festgestellt.
