Mrz 1863 in Ostrau) war ein deutscher Maler der Biedermeierzeit und war das 13. und jngste Kind von Carl Friedrich Senff, Konsistorialrat an der Moritzkirche in Halle(Saale) und der Rosina Dorothea Litzmann. 32 Jahre lang hat Senff in Rom gelebt. Adolf Senff folgte zunchst dem Wunsche seines Vaters: Er besuchte die Franckeschen Stiftungen zu Halle und studierte zunchst, wie schon zwei seiner Brder Theologie. Erst nach Abschluss seines Studiums und einer gehaltenen Probepredigt wandte sich Senff 1809 im Alter von 24 Jahren ganz der Kunst und Malerei zu.
