Jon Bartley Stewart (nacido en 1954) es un filósofo e historiador de la filosofía estadounidense especializado en pensamiento continental del siglo XIX y principios del XX, con especial atención a Hegel y Kierkegaard. Obtuvo su doctorado en Filosofía en la University of California, San Diego, y ha trabajado en varios institutos de investigación y universidades en Europa y Estados Unidos antes de establecerse como investigador en el Instituto de Filosofía de la Academia Eslovaca de Ciencias. Stewart ha sido profesor invitado en lugares como Harvard, y es editor jefe de la revista Filozofia así como coeditor de múltiples series académicas sobre filosofía histórica y temática danesa.

Su obra publicada incluye títulos como Kierkegaard’s Relations to Hegel Reconsidered, Hegel’s Interpretation of the Religions of the World y The Emergence of Subjectivity in the Ancient and Medieval World, que exploran cómo se forman conceptos como subjetividad, ironía y reconocimiento en los sistemas filosóficos modernos.
