Und trotzdem musste er ständig den Kampf um seine Daseinsberechtigung und gegen Vorurteile führen. Rückblickend zieht er für sich die Bilanz. Als er nach Deutschland kam, tat er dies gegen alle Warnungen und Vorbehalte seiner Familie. Er hat sich trotzdem für Deutschland entschieden und dafür einen hohen Preis bezahlt. Die Vorurteile, die man ihm mitgegeben hatte, haben sich in all den Jahren bestätigt. In seinen alten Tagen fragt er sich, ob sich dies alles gelohnt hat.
