James Binney
James Binney is a British theoretical physicist and astrophysicist, known for his academic work in galactic dynamics and computational physics. He co-authored, with Scott Tremaine, the influential treatise Galactic Dynamics (1987; second edition in 2008), widely considered a reference in its field. He has also written The Physics of Quantum Mechanics (2013, with David Skinner) and Galactic Astronomy (1998, with Michael Merrifield), in addition to the textbook Astrophysics (The Physics of Stars, 1995), used in multiple universities.
