The Wrong Crown - J. S. Eryndor

Finn is seventeen, works in the royal stables of Highcrown, and has one great advantage: no one expects anything from him.

Until the annual Crown Festival, when a frightened horse bolts through the celebrations and Finn tries to stop it. In the chaos, he catches the kingdom’s ancient crown.

The crown lights up.

According to an old tradition, that can mean only one thing: Finn must be Prince Adrian, the crown prince who disappeared twelve years ago.

The court wants to believe it. The king wants his son back. And before Finn knows it, his old life has been replaced by lessons, rules, expensive clothes and a title that cannot possibly belong to him.

Because Finn knows one thing for certain.

He is not a prince.

Together with the sharp-witted Lyra, the small but decidedly dangerous Brom, and a black warhorse that claims it was once a knight, Finn begins searching for the truth about what really happened to Adrian.

But the closer he gets, the clearer it becomes that someone at court has spent twelve years making sure the truth stays buried.

And perhaps the wrong prince is exactly what they need.
