Jeremy Rifkin (Denver, USA, 1943) is one of the key popularizers of our times. He is the creator of the Third Industrial Revolution theory, based on Information Technologies, and analyzes the economic, environmental, social, and cultural impact of new technologies on the global economy.
Founder and president of the Foundation for Economic Trends, he graduated in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he is currently a lecturer, and in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
He has served as an advisor to several governments during their EU presidencies: France, Germany, Portugal, and Slovenia, among others. He also regularly advises the European Parliament on environmental, technology, and energy security issues.
He writes opinion columns in major newspapers in various countries: Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, Die Süddeutsche Zeitung, El Mundo, and Clarín, among others.
He has participated in numerous forums and conferences at over 200 universities in 30 different countries over the last 30 years.
