Synopsis "Universal Design"

Three students at Great Plains University meet by chance in the town's struggling mall. The alluring Chicagoan, Nicole, who lost her sight, defies her mother's protective urge and strikes out on her own. The shy Norwegian, Kasper, who lost his first love, signs on to a track scholarship. His American cousin, Lars, hides a traumatic past that deters him from coming out to his parents. What binds them together? Yarn, of course! As well as music, friendship, and the resolve to put their struggles behind them. When Lars hires Nicole at the yarn shop he manages, he implements universal design to facilitate her success, transforming the store into a destination for fiber lovers. But in championing Nicole's independence, he threatens to leave Kasper in the cold. Kasper's effort to reel Nicole in meets with more headwinds when her troubled sister devours her attention with ominous finsta posts. Battling his shyness may not be enough for Kasper to win Nicole over, when navigating her disability in an ableist world entails facing barriers that test her and her entire family's limits.
