After twenty years of pretending, Max finds out that a friend has been taken, and she can no longer ignore the guilt that consumes her. Max begins to take steps to form a rescue mission, for both her friend and the abducted women. Blake McGregor isn't the type to trust easily. In fact, he doesn't trust anyone, but there is something about MaxEllen Channing that has all his instincts flaring --and he doesn't like it. If he could have it his way, he would walk away from Max as fast as he could. But the same instincts that tell him to be wary, won't let him walk away. Max doesn't want to trust Blake. She doesn't want to trust anyone, or risk anymore lives. But as the lives of the women become more endangered, Max must learn to trust Blake and risk her heart in the process. Max has to put her pride, and her heart, aside if she wants to save the women.
