Synopsis "THE RESILIENCE GAME PLAN The Neuroscience Playbook for Developing Social, Emotional, Cognitive, and Biological Well-Being: Secondary - Module One"
The Resilience Game Plan is a research-informed, whole-student, self-directed, intervention framework that helps young people develop the social, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, financial, and interpersonal life skills needed to navigate challenges, change, and uncertainty in everyday life. Drawing on neuroscience, cognitive behavioral science, positive psychology, and metacognitive research, the playbook supports multi-tiered implementation and translates research into practical strategies that students can understand, practice, and apply across academic, personal, family, and social contexts. Resilience is presented not simply as the ability to recover from adversity but as a learnable capacity strengthened through a growth mindset, instruction, problem-solving, healthy relationships, help-seeking, reflective decision-making, consistent practice, and purposeful action. Aligned with CASEL's five core competencies-self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making, social awareness, and relationship skills-the framework provides students with practical tools to strengthen resilience, learn from challenges, and respond constructively to a complex and changing world. This grade-level-specific student edition of The Resilience Game Plan allows students to independently learn and practice resilience skills, write about and process their emotions, revisit and share their reflections with teachers and caregivers, and retain the book as a long-term reference-extending learning beyond a digital book or lesson. Students will learn concepts to: Learn and apply The RGP Cognitive Skills Training five-step process until it becomes an automatic, healthy-thinking habit. Practice seven well-being strategies that strengthen developmental resilience at school and beyond. Create personalized game plan for 26 brain-supporting life topics. Recognize their thoughts to self-manage their feelings and behaviors. Take purposeful action aligned with their core values and continue moving toward their goals.
