Synopsis "The Correction"

Meera Kulkarni writes other people's love stories for a living. As a matrimonial profile writer in Mumbai, she has a gift for finding the one true, unmarketable detail that makes a stranger irresistible - and a strict rule about never falling for her own material. Then she meets Kabir Rege: a divorced structural engineer whose entire personality, on paper, is reading, some travel. He can't sell himself to save his life. But on a half-built construction site in Worli, Meera finds the sentence hiding underneath his silence - and the two hundred and eleven tiffin-box notes he's never told anyone about. She writes him the profile of his life. It works exactly as well as she feared it would. As Kabir's matches pile up, Meera realizes she's built the very thing standing between them - and that the only way to stop losing him to strangers is to admit she never should have been objective about him in the first place. What follows is a story about mothers who won't stop matchmaking, a scandal that nearly costs Meera her career, and the terrifying discovery that the woman who finds everyone else's truth has been hiding from her own. The Correction is a warm, funny, quietly devastating love story about the profiles we write for ourselves - and what it costs to finally tell the truth.
