Synopsis "The art of war "

This classic Chinese text, the earliest known treatise on war, offers strategy and tactics that can be applied to every type of human conflict. Central to Sun Tzu's philosophy is the concept of using deception and superior intelligence to minimize risk, which has made his book required reading at military, business, and law schools around the world. With a Foreword by B.H. Liddell Hart and a 74-page Introduction, this deluxe edition--beautifully presented in a sumptuous silk case--is a standout offering in the successful Art of Wisdom series.

Sun Tzu (in simplified Chinese: 孙子, in traditional Chinese: 孫子, in pinyin: Sūnzǐ) was a general, military strategist, and philosopher from ancient China. The name by which we know him is actually an honorary title meaning "Master Sun". His birth name was Sun Wu and outside his family, he was known by his courtesy name Changqing.

Traditionally, he is considered the author of The Art of War, an influential treatise on military strategy. Sun Tzu has had a significant impact on Chinese and Asian history and culture, both for writing The Art of War and for being a legendary historical figure.
