Maggie Stiefvater is an American writer and artist known for her young adult fantasy novels, such as The Raven Cycle, The Wolves of Mercy Falls, and The Scorpio Races. Born in 1981 in Virginia, Stiefvater has cultivated a literary career that combines elements of magic, mythology, and complex relationships. Her work has been translated into more than 30 languages and has sold over five million copies worldwide

In addition to her role as a writer, Stiefvater is a multifaceted artist. She is known for her ability to play the bagpipes and for her passion for modified cars. Her narrative style is characterized by lyrical prose and deeply human characters, even when they are in supernatural worlds

In 2025, Stiefvater collaborated on the graphic adaptation of The Raven Boys, the first novel of The Raven Cycle, with writer Stephanie Williams and illustrator Sas Milledge. This adaptation presents the story of Blue Sargent and the Raven Boys in a visually striking format, maintaining the magical and emotional essence of the original work
