Synopsis "It's Not about You, But It's about You"

Frank Reed didn't grow up with a map. Raised in Monroe, Louisiana on structure built from fear instead of guidance, he spent his twenties chasing money, freedom, and good times, never once asking where any of it was leading. Then came the phone call that changed everything: the mother of his child telling him she couldn't do it alone anymore. In that moment, Frank became a father before he ever knew how to be one. This is a raw, unflinching memoir about learning fatherhood with no blueprint. Confronting cycles of abuse mistaken for love, a scattered support system, and blind spots he didn't know he had until his son's life depended on him closing them. It's the story of a man who broke a generational pattern not through perfection, but through relentless honesty with himself, one uncomfortable lesson at a time.Part confession, part wake-up call, this book is for every parent trying to give their child a foundation they never received themselves. Reed's message is simple but hard-won: you can't leave your kids something better until you go inward and fix your own thinking first. The light starts with you. Turn it on.
