Er bietet erstmals eine Ubersicht der niederlandischsprachigen Forschung zu diesem Thema, wobei die literarischen und kulturellen Funktionen medizinischen Wissens und die Poetik medizinischen wie literarischen Schreibens im Mittelpunkt stehen.
