As Max's Mum Eileen and her West Highland Terrier Toots are subjected to some appalling Russian aggression, Max's Chechen enforcer Vlad delivers a crushing retribution. The Metropolitan Police discover that the feud goes much further back in time, and that the oligarch is prepared to use a nuclear option to get what he wants. Hugo's quest for sporting success, and it has to be said, a loving initiation, is paralleled by the ferocious Eva, and Troy, Max's gentle Sunday-league footballing nephew.
