Schwerpunkt des Buchs ist die Vorstellung und Diskussion des SEED-Konzepts. SEED steht für "Secure-Base Earth Equilibrium Development". SEED ist ein Konzept, in dem das Primat der Lebensfreundlichkeit die gesamte "Zivilisations-Architektur" des 21. Jahrhunderts prägen soll (so z.B. "Lebensplatz vor Arbeitsplatz", d.h. weg vom Wachstumsdogma, hin zu "Regenerativität"). Das Konzept wird auf drei Ebenen beschrieben: der globalen, der institutionellen, der instrumentellen Ebene. Nach einleitenden Grundgedanken und einer Konkretisierung des SEED-Konzepts wird dieses in einem Kommentar-Teil aus verschiedenen Perspektiven diskutiert.
