Synopsis "El Ingrediente Secreto / The Secret Ingredient (in Spanish)"

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION By the author of Women Who Buy Flowers. "Is a story as it happened, or as it is remembered? Time is constructed out of a combination of lives simmering over low heat. In a same crucible of years, mix tastes, tinctures, the moon and the sun, metals, seasons, the living and the dead. Time cooks the mixture and the elements transform into one single compound--the past." With a unique voice, Vanessa Montfort delights us with a story that intertwines, with great sensitivity, the past and present of a family marked by the Spanish Civil War. This thread will take Eva Alcocer to decipher the clues of her family history, as well as the memory of an entire nation. Will she finally discover that mysterious ingredient she has been missing to feel like her life has meaning? The lyricism and freshness in the author's style, along with her ability to transform reality into something extraordinary, will capture anyone willing to be absorbed by this fascinating novel about the search for happiness.
