Vladimiro Mimica
Vladimiro Sergio Mimica Cárcamo (Punta Arenas, March 17, 1945) is a prominent sports commentator, radio announcer, and Chilean television host. He began his career at Radio Cooperativa and gained great notoriety for his narration of the 1991 Copa Libertadores final, where Colo-Colo was crowned champion, a story that was recorded and distributed on cassette. He was also a pioneer in broadcasting the Bundesliga on Chilean television during the 80s. Between 2008 and 2012, he served as mayor of Punta Arenas.

In recognition of his career, he received the National Sports Journalism Award in 1994 and the “Julio Martínez Prádanos” Award in 2022. Although he is not known for literary publications, his legacy in Chilean sports journalism is widely recognized.
