Neil Howe
Neil Howe is an American historian, economist, and demographer, known for developing the generational theory of Strauss–Howe with William Strauss. This theory suggests that history progresses in cycles of approximately 80-90 years, divided into four "turnings" that repeat in generational patterns. Howe has been the managing director of demographic issues at Hedgeye Risk Management and president of Saeculum Research. Additionally, he is a principal at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and the Global Aging Institute. He lives in Great Falls, Virginia.

Among his most notable works are Generations: The History of America's Future, 1584 to 2069 (1991), 13th Gen: Abort, Retry, Ignore, Fail? (1993), The Fourth Turning (1997), translated into Spanish as El Cuarto Giro, and Millennials Rising: The Next Great Generation (2000). These publications, in the genre of historical and sociological essay, have been influential in the analysis of generational patterns and their impact on American society.
