Julio Ramón Ribeyro
Julio Ramón Ribeyro (Lima, 1929 - 1994) was one of the most outstanding narrators of Peruvian and Latin American literature. Educated in Humanities and Law at the Catholic University of Lima, his life was marked by a deep connection with literature and a constant search for new forms of expression. In 1960, he moved to Paris, where, in addition to practicing journalism at France Presse, he held diplomatic roles, such as cultural advisor and ambassador to UNESCO. His work, translated into several languages, has been a fundamental reference in the study of 20th-century narrative.
Throughout his career, Ribeyro received accolades such as the National Literature Prize (1983) and the Juan Rulfo Prize (1994), establishing himself as a master of short narrative.
