Juan A. García-Porrero
Juan Antonio García-Porrero Pérez holds a PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valladolid and has been a professor of Human Anatomy and Embryology at the University of Cantabria since 1981. He served as the dean of the Faculty of Medicine for 16 years and was the director of the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology. His research has focused on embryonic development and brain anatomy, with over seventy scientific publications in international journals.
He is the author of two widely used textbooks in the field of medicine: Human Anatomy (2nd edition, 2019) and Human Neuroanatomy (2020), both co-written with Juan M. Hurlé. These works are noted for their educational approach, integrating clinical cases, detailed iconography, and digital resources, making them essential references for students and professionals in the health sciences.
