Isabel Baboun
Isabel Baboun Garib (Santiago de Chile, 1984) is a Chilean writer and actress. She studied acting at the Catholic University of Chile, earned a master's degree in Creative Writing at New York University, and a PhD in Literature at the University of California. Additionally, she completed the advanced screenplay program at the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. Currently, she serves as a teacher and coordinator of the Oral Expression Workshop I and II courses at the Faculty of Liberal Arts.

Among her notable works are "Todos los árboles" (2014), a poetry book; "Un hermano muerto" (2018), a collection of stories; and "La Tailandesa" (2023), her first novel. In 2025, she published "Ummi. A story of Palestinian migration", where she explores Palestinian migration in Chile through her family history and that of the Palestinian community at large. Her literary work spans genres such as poetry, short stories, and novels, exploring themes of identity, migration, and memory.
