Valerie Thomas is an Australian writer born in Melbourne, recognized for her contribution to children's literature. She worked as a teacher in Australia and Europe, and also as an educational researcher in the area of spelling. Her passion for travel has taken her around much of the world, including places like Antarctica and the Galapagos Islands.
