Synopsis "Unmerciful Fog: My Journey with Alzheimer's Disease Dementia"

Pack your bags and join me in a journey into the devastating world of Alzheimer's disease that delves into the dark mind of dementia. I undertook this three year project as a means of therapy for my Alzheimer's disease, and journalize what it means to suffer with dementia. The journal eventually evolved into this unique book that not only educates but also captivates readers by eliciting fear, sadness, joy, and spiritual growth. My hope is that this book will emotionally and spiritually touches readers, and provide understanding and support for caregivers and loved ones during the dark journey of Alzheimer's disease."The time has come to leave my sanctuary and return to patrol duty. I realize once the fog reaches the shoreline that conditions will become more hazardous for highway commuters. Before departing, I take a deep breath of the moist salty sea air, and then slowly exhale it from my saturated lungs. I then negotiate out of the parking area, and ease onto the winding highway to continue my drive northward. My survival instincts missed detecting that the fog had been watching me as I relaxed on my scenic perch. The fog has been targeting me to be a casualty of its advancing army. Using the skills of a predator, the fog bank moves ever so slightly to adjust for the perfect angle to attack. My survival skills acquired from the many years of duty fail to warn me of the impending danger. My adrenaline glands continue to remain dormant while waiting to be called into action. Little did I know, many years later the fog would again target me to be a casualty. The menacing fog would then creep deep into the recesses of my mind, destroying essential brain cells in its wake, and forever erase precious memories."
