Synopsis "The First Men in the Moon"

Upon meeting Cavor, a physicist, Bedford, the narrator, becomes deeply intrigued by Cavor's work on a substance that will make space flight a reality. The two men design and build a spherical "spaceship" and upon its completion, shoot off into space to be the first men to visit the moon. There they find a desolate wasteland - at least until the Lunar day begins...
