(Lima, 1967) He is the most important promoter of Peruvian gastronomy through thirty-four restaurants located in eleven countries where he develops different culinary specialties. He was one of the creators of the Lima Gastronomic Fair called Mistura, which in a short time has become one of the three most important in the world. He has received the "Entrepreneur of the Year" Awards in 2005 by América Economía magazine. He was also considered in 2010 by Unicef as «Goodwill Ambassador». In 2011, he was chosen as one of the twenty most influential chefs in the world at the Madrid Fusión fair. He received in Stockholm, from the hands of Prince Carl Philip, the Global Gastronomy 2013 award. That same year, he received in Italy the Antica Corte Pallavicina Award and the Lifetime Achievement from Latin America´s 50 Best Restaurants. His restaurant Astrid & Gastón has been on the World´s 50 Best Restaurants list for the last few years.
