Engineer, economist, and Colombian writer. He has been the Minister of Health and Education of Colombia. Holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California (San Diego). A few years ago, the newspaper Portafolio named him the best Economics professor in Colombia. He also received the Simón Bolívar Journalism Award. Throughout his career, he has published dozens of specialized articles on economics and social policy. He is the author of more than ten books, including Today is Always Still, about his experience with cancer, and I Do Not Expect to Make That Journey, about Stefan Zweig and humanism in times of madness.
