Torcuato Luca de Tena, graduated in Law, permanent press correspondent in London, Washington, Middle East, and Mexico, former director of ABC, member of the Royal Spanish Academy, published his first work in Chile at eighteen years old

Since then he dedicated his life to active journalism and literary creation. Without disregarding significant works such as Los hijos de la lluvia or La brújula loca, his greatest successes were achieved with the two novels Edad prohibida and Los renglones torcidos de Dios. Torcuato Luca de Tena cultivated theater, poetry, short stories, and historical essays, although according to his own confessions, it is in the novel genre where he worked with the most satisfaction

National Literature Award, Fastenrath Award from the Royal Spanish Academy, Award from the Cervantine Society of Novel and Planeta Award, he is also the author of Escrito en las olas, La llamada, Las tribulaciones de una chica decente, Paisaje con muñeca rota and Primer y último amor, among others. In the essay genre, América y sus enigmas, Papeles para la pequeña y la gran historia and Franco, sí, pero..., with which he won the Espejo de España Award 1993 stand out.
