Synopsis "Los demonios de la lengua / The Demons of Language (in Spanish)"

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

The story of a Jesuit mystic who mistook erotic intensities for divine ecstasies

His enemy, a Dominican inquisitor, recounts this story based on the Jesuit’s handwritten confession, found in a Jewish bookshop in Paris.

The two fictional characters are inspired by fascinating historical figures: an exorcist of nuns and a dissident of the Inquisition.

Doubt is the magnetic center of this tale, in which enmity and sympathy, history and fiction, good and evil, kiss and merge. For, as a possessed mouth warns us: “In the nameless, shoreless night; in the speechless night of our bodies, the demons of the tongue always wait, impatient.”
