Un manga seinen clásico en formato de lujo

Ambientado en el Japón de la era Edo. La historia narra las aventuras de Manji, un guerrero que tiene una gran ventaja sobre sus rivales: ninguna herida lo puede matar. Victorioso en más de cien enfrentamientos a muerte ante otros samuráis, entre ellos el marido de su hermana.

La historia nos explica como una monja anciana, de la que se dice que tiene 800 años, le concede el don de la inmortalidad mediante unos gusanos llamados kessenchū, que le curan cualquier herida y hasta restauran miembros amputados aunque la amputación haya sido hace horas.

La muerte de su hermana lo lleva a aceptar la misión que acabará con su inmortalidad: debe matar a mil hombres malvados para redimirse.

Hiroaki Samura is a renowned Japanese mangaka, known for his detailed artistic style and focus on mature, complex narratives. He was born in 1970 in Japan and began his career as a mangaka in the 90s. His most famous work is Blade of the Immortal (1993-2012), an action and samurai manga that combines historical drama with the supernatural. This manga earned him international recognition and was adapted into a movie in 2017.

Samura has also worked on other projects such as Ohikkoshi (1994) and The Ninja (2009), exploring various genres, from drama to comedy.
