Jaume Serra Húnter (Manresa, 1878 – Cuernava, 1943) és un personatge públic molt remarcable de la història catalana moderna. Durant els convulsos anys trenta del segle XX, va ocupar càrrecs importants tant en l’àmbit acadèmic (degà de la Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres, rector de la Universitat de Barcelona) com en l’àmbit polític i social (diputat, president del Parlament de Catalunya, regidor de Cultura per Barcelona, president de la Secció Catalana del Socors Roig Internacional, etcètera). Amb la derrota del bàndol republicà, hagué d’exiliar-se, primer a França, després a Mèxic. Com no podia ser altrament, en el llibre que teniu a les mans, la figura pública de Serra Húnter és examinada, rescatada i recordada. Al mateix temps, però, els capítols que l’integren aborden les temàtiques filosòfiques en les quals prengué part i, sobretot, posen l’accent en la decisiva contribució que Serra Húnter va fer per a la consolidació de la filosofia catalana del primer terç de segle XX.

Jaume Serra Húnter (Manresa, 1878 – Cuernava, 1943) es un personaje público muy remarcable de la historia catalana moderna. Durante los convulsos años treinta del siglo XX, ocupó cargos importantes tanto en el ámbito académico (decano de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, rector de la Universidad de Barcelona) como en el ámbito político y social (diputado, presidente del Parlament de Cataluña, concejal de Cultura por Barcelona, ​​presidente de la Sección Catalana del Socorro Rojo Internacional, etcétera). Con la derrota del bando republicano, tuvo que exiliarse, primero en Francia, después en México. Como no podía ser de otra forma, en el libro que tenéis en vuestras manos, la figura pública de Serra Húnter es examinada, rescatada y recordada. Jaume Serra Húnter (Manresa, 1878 - Cuernava, 1943) is a very remarkable public figure in modern Catalan history. During the turbulent 1930s, he held important posts both in the academic sphere (dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, rector of the University of Barcelona) and in the political and social sphere (member of parliament, president of the Catalan Parliament, councillor of Culture for Barcelona, president of the Catalan Section of the International Red Aid, etc.). With the defeat of the Republican side, he had to go into exile, first in France, then in Mexico. In the book you have in your hands, the public figure of Serra Húnter is examined, recalled and remembered. At the same time, however, the chapters that comprise it deal with the philosophical themes in which he took part and, above all, emphasize the decisive contribution that Serra Húnter made to the consolidation of Catalan philosophy in the first third of the twentieth century.
