Benedict XVI, born as Joseph Ratzinger in 1927 in Germany, was a prominent theologian and leader of the Catholic Church. Before his election as Pope in 2005, he had already made a significant mark on contemporary theology. Among his most influential works is Introduction to Christianity (1968), a collection of university lectures on the apostolic profession of faith. During his pontificate, he published three encyclicals: Deus caritas est (2005), Spe salvi (2007), and Caritas in veritate (2009), addressing fundamental issues such as love, hope, and charity in the modern context.

Additionally, Benedict XVI is the author of the Jesus of Nazareth trilogy, published between 2007 and 2012, where he explores the figure of Jesus Christ from a deep theological perspective.
