Synopsis "Dream Work "

Dream Work, a collection of forty-five poems, follows both chronologically and logically Mary Oliver's American Primitive, which won her the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1983. The depth and diversity of perceptual awareness -- so steadfast and radiant in American Primitive -- continues in Dream Work. Additionally, she has turned her attention in these poems to the solitary and difficult labors of the spirit -- to accepting the truth about one's personal world, and to valuing the triumphs while transcending the failures of human relationships.

Mary Oliver (1935-2019) was a distinguished American poet, born in Maple Heights, Ohio. Her work is characterized by a deep connection with nature and a reflection on the human experience. Throughout her career, she received numerous accolades, including the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1984 for her collection "American Primitive" and the National Book Award in 1992 for "New and Selected Poems". Among her most notable works are "La escritura indómita" (2021), "Horas de invierno" (2022), and "Nuestro mundo" (2023). Oliver regularly published both poetry and prose, exploring themes such as the intersection between the human and natural world, and the limits of human language to express such a connection.
