Cultural ecologist, geophilosopher, and performance artist. Described as "revolutionary" by the Los Angeles Times, "bold" and "truly original" by Science magazine, David's work has helped catalyze the emergence of several new disciplines, including the burgeoning field of ecopsychology. His essays on the cultural causes and consequences of environmental disorder are published in numerous magazines, academic journals, and anthologies. David, who has received several grants and awards, including the Lannan International Literary Award for Nonfiction, recently held the Arne Naess Chair in Global Justice and Ecology at the University of Oslo in Norway. He is currently a senior visiting scholar in Ecology and Natural Philosophy at Harvard University. A member of Schumacher College in England, David is the founder and creative director of the Alliance for Wild Ethics (AWE).

Es de los mejores libros que he leído en la vida. Un recuento personal, colectivo y profundamente sensible sobre el mundo en el que vivimos, y nuestra propia identidad como seres animales parte de un todo que es bastante grande, hermoso y complejo. Todo esto lo explica Abram de una forma tan especial, casi espiritual. Y tal vez lo sea, hay mucho en esta tierra que se revela sagrado una vez que nos abrimos a sentir y experimentar lo que realmente significa ser humano. Este libro llegó a mis manos, curiosamente, en medio de una tusa, y se volvió sin esperarlo parte de mi terapia.
