Arnal Ballester (Barcelona, 1955) is a Spanish illustrator known for his expressive graphic style and narrative approach to illustration. With a degree in History from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he began his professional career in the graphic humor press in the 1970s, contributing to magazines such as El Papus and Por Favor.

In the 1980s, he ventured into the world of role-playing games, working for the publisher Joc Internacional. There, he designed covers, logos, and game screens, notably his work on titles like Stormbringer and Aquelarre.

From 1992, he turned to illustrating children's books, creating works like Los artísticos casos de Fricandó, which earned him the National Illustration Award in 2008. His style is characterized by abstract images and dynamic compositions, influenced by constructivism and the clear line.

In addition to his work as an illustrator, Ballester was a professor of Visual Narration at the Escola Massana d’Art i Disseny in Barcelona from 1989 to 2020. His legacy continues in children's literature and in training new generations of illustrators.

Eduardo Polo is the pseudonym used by the Venezuelan poet and essayist Eugenio Montejo (1938–2008) to sign his work aimed at children. Under this name, Montejo published Chamario, a book of rhymes and linguistic games that has become a benchmark of children's poetry in Spanish.

The word "Chamario" is a combination of "chamo" (colloquial term for children in Venezuela) and "rhyme", reflecting the playful and sonorous focus of the book. Originally published in 2003 by Ediciones Ekaré, Chamario stands out for its experimental style, which plays with the sonority and structure of words, creating verses like "La bici sigue la cleta / por una ave siempre nida". This approach aims to capture the attention of children and foster their interest in language and poetry.
