Synopsis "Analysis of PVFC Hybrid System"

A hybrid system also called as standalone system supplies electricity to the load without being connected to the electric grid. Hybrid systems have applications in remote and inaccessible areas where the population is living without electricity. In remote and rural areas the grid connection is not technical feasible and also a cost effective option. Therefore, hybrid systems are well suited for such areas. The purpose of this book is to model and simulate the different components of a PVFC hybrid system which may fulfill the electric demands for remote and rural areas. Therefore, here a photovoltaic generator and a fuel cell are connected to the load to fulfill the electrical demands to these areas. This hybrid system consists of a photovoltaic generator and a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) coupled together to form a hybrid system which is connected to the load or grid as per the user demand.
